Ray of Hope For Indian Agriculture Even In the 2nd Wave

Niti Aayog gave a relieving news the farmers and people of all country by declaring that the second wave will not impact the country’s agriculture sector. This details was shared by the body’s dignified member Ramesh Chand. He said that in the Month of May, the agricultural activities were at their minimum, but this hasn’t impacted the status quo of India on this sector.

In a detailed interview given to the PTI, he said that the policies have favored the production of crop such as sugarcane, rice, and wheat. He also said that the stricture supports the price of pulses and benefits its producers.

Considering the fact that the cases started to grow in the Month of May, it should be noted that a very less quantum of crops are sown including some vegetables and off-season fruits. He also took cognizance of the fact that the production has been stable due to less sowing and reaping done in this month.

When being asked about the weak position of India in pulses production, he said that the government is thinking of bringing pulse-producing area under irrigation so such crops could see better growth. He reiterated the fact in the interview that the policies have been largely formulated to enhance the production of sugarcane, rice, and wheat. 

In the past few weeks, the country is seeing a steady decline in the number of cases and this is certainly a fillip to all the sectors. With this speed, we’ll be soon back on track and the resilience of the economy will get a powerful boost.
